Description
I CREATED THE SERIES ABOUT FAMOUS SURFING BREAKS AROUND THE WORLD.
Tijuana Sloughs is the break where the Tijuana rivermouth meets the Pacific Ocean. It is actually easiest to access Sloughs from Imperial Beach, since getting there from Playas de Tijuana would mean paddling north across the border and could result in attracting attention from the Border Patrol. This is a wave that changes greatly depending on the season, the amount of recent rainfall and swell direction. It is usually best in the wintertime on the big Northwest swells. Tijuana Sloughs is a series of cobblestone reefs that can handle waves over triple overhead. That said, it is somewhat of a mysto spot since the takeoff zone is shifty and there is a tendency for sneaker sets to come out of nowhere and blow through the lineup.
